Trauma-informed Registered Psychotherapist, Canadian Certified Counsellor, Narcissistic Abuse Recovery Certified Clinician, clinical director.
Congratulations on reaching out for help. In my clinical practice, I see both adult and couple clients who are facing distress associated with a wide range of issues, including anxiety, depression, complex trauma (e.g., childhood or adulthood emotional, physical sexual abuse or deprivation), PTSD, and personality issues. I have a particular interest in dealing with individuals who are recovering from co-dependent patterns and narcissistic abuse.
Approved Victim Services Ontario Service Provider Counsellor. At the beginning of our sessions, I will help you manage distressing symptoms, and then I will journey with you to support you to gain insight into the thoughts, feelings and patterns that underlie your distress. We’ll then work together to find a way to change the difficult thoughts, feelings and patterns at the roots of your distress and that limit you from living the life you want for yourself! I will support you to build a more positive sense of self and self-esteem and develop more solid boundaries and more secure relationships to help you resolve your anxiety, depression, and relational issues and heal from the abuse you have experienced.
To help you through your journey, I will employ a wide range of techniques and strategies from different therapy approaches. I believe that creating a therapeutic environment is essential to provide you with a space that makes exploring your inner self a safe venture. I am here to hear what has happened to you in the past and in your current world to impact how you think, feel, behave and relate to others in relationships. In doing so, I am a non-judgemental, empathic and authentic therapist who believes that we all need to find someone who can understand our experience as part of our healing process. I also tend to be very direct with clients in regard to identifying the thoughts and patterns that tend to limit you from growing and healing.
In my individual and couples work, I draw from attachment and psychoanalytic-based theories to support you in developing a more secure sense of self and attachment. A healthy relationship requires that each person build a resilient, secure sense of self and the capacity to establish intimacy with others. I am able to assist you and your partner to deal with difficulties in communication that are at the root of conflict cycles between you. I will try to explore how your current negative relationship patterns may be due to both childhood and current relationship patterns.

Within the context of a safe therapeutic space, you and I will be able to talk about the difficult past and present scenes that you have experienced that have left you with a negative sense of your self and others that continues to linger as residue in your everyday relationships. I employ cognitive-behavioural, trauma-focused, attachment-psychodynamic based, emotion-focused, mindfulness, and relational approaches to support you in your healing journey.

I have a specific interest in dealing with individuals or couples who struggle with co-dependency or unhealthy narcissism. Some individuals face difficult abuse, such as narcissistic abuse, in their relationships that can impair our sense of self and create deep fears in connecting with others ever again. I will help you figure out how to create a safer world for you, more trust of yourself and feelings, more solid boundaries and to recognize the red flags that someone who you are relating to may be an unhealthy relationship choice for you.
